Study Group “Gender and Musical Patronage,”

On behalf of the steering committee members of the IMS Study Group “Gender and Musical Patronage,” Vincenzina Ottomano and María Cáceres, we would like to bring to your attention the CFP for the meeting “Musical Patronage across Borders: Gender, Institutions, and Economics of Music” at the IMS2022 Congress:

This event will be the first presential meeting of the study group since its foundation. It aims to bring together researchers interested in the role of gender in patronage systems and in the dissemination and management of music going beyond individual and local experiences to focus on transnational exchanges and cultural transfers. The IMS Study Group “Gender and Musical Patronage” invites proposals from scholars working on gendered politics of music and the economics of music for brief 10-minute papers addressing transnational and cross borders aspects to be discussed at the IMS2022 meeting.

Please send an abstract (max. 250 words) along with a short bio note (max. 100 words) to maria.caceres@musik.unibe.ch by September 20, 2021. Please note that this CFP is separate from the IMS’s own CFP, and submissions to this session do not affect eligibility for acceptance to the larger IMS conference.
